2 October 2009 - The Philippine Consulate General launched the celebration of the “Filipino – American History Month” in a simple Flag Raising Ceremony at the Consulate Grounds.
“We join and congratulate the Filipino-American Historical Society of Hawaii as well as those in other States for their hard work and determination to continue the observance to hold the “Filipino-American History Month” as a tribute to Filipino – American experience and their countless contributions,” Consul General Cardenas said in his remarks at the Ceremony.
The Filipino American Historical Society of Hawaii has organized a month-long celebrations at the Honolulu Hale and the Hawaii State Library that are free and open to the public.
