Search for Bagong Bayani 2011

01 July 2011 - The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu, in coordination with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), announces the search for the outstanding and exemplary Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to be recognized during the 2011 Bagong Bayani Awards (BBA), under the auspices of the Bagong Bayani Foundation, Inc. (BBFI) scheduled to be held on December at Malacaňan Palace.

The Bagong Bayani Awards (BBA) is a major program of the BBFI that pays tribute to the country’s outstanding OFWs for their significant efforts in fostering goodwill among peoples of the world, enhancing the image of the Filipino as a competent, dedicated and responsible worker and major contributor to the nation’s economy. The first awards ceremony was held in 1984 and is now being held every two (2) years.

Who may nominate, the nomination form, the category of awards, and the criteria for the different award categories may be downloaded from the POEA website, http://www.poea.gov.ph/bba2011/bba2011.htm. The nomination, with supporting documents, may be submitted to:
